Signature by the artists of the catalogue "BillyBoy* & Lala" from their recent exhibition "Mdvanii, Ceci n'est pas une poupée" at PAYOT bookshop in Lausanne on Thursday, October 4. 2007 (starting 5.pm). A whole window installation by the artists will stay for three weeks with artworks including Mdvanii belonging to the museums of Science Fiction La Maison d'Ailleurs and the brand new acquisition of the mudac, the enigmatic Mdvanii sculpture named "L'Oracle".

The new exhibition of the artworks of BillyBoy* & Lala tittled Mdvanii, "Ceci n'est pas une poupée" (Mdvanii, This is Not a Doll) will be held simultaneously in two prestigious museums of Lausanne, Switzerland: at the mudac (They deliberately spell it with a small "m" - Museum or Decorative Arts and Design) from 17.11.06 to 11.02.07 and at Musée de la Photographie de L'Elysée from 23.11.06 to 28.01.07. Two exhibtions of Mdvanii de BillyBoy* & Lala and the work of the artists (paintings by BillyBoy* and sculptures) will occur in two major museums of Lausanne, Switzerland in November 2006, in a joined exhibition project/collaboration between the museums: one at the MUDAC - museum of design and decorative and contemporary art - (opening 16.11.06),) and photographic works at the Musée L'Elysée - museum of photography - (opening 23. 11.06). The exhibitions will last for three months.

We recently discovered that someone was trying to sell on ebay an early Mdvanii doll by BillyBoy* WITH REPAINTED EYES AND EYEBROWS, in home-made clothes. How nuts can you be?!! Please!!! Aren't there enough commercially-made vinyl dolls to screw around with and "express" yourself!!?? Mdvanii is a genuine artistic creation and should NEVER be altered in anyway. Collectors have to absolutely reject any of these altered Mdvanii dolls, which are totally devalued and to say the least, ugly. The sale will be cancelled on ebay.

The Paris Museum LA HALLE SAINT PIERRE is preparing an exhibition on the theme of "the doll with powers". It will include pieces from Art Brut, ancient ethnic figurines and fetish dolls, sculptures by artists Hans Bellmer and Yotsua Simon, as well as a big selection of BillyBoy* & Lala Mdvanii creations: photography, paintings including some of the most recent Mdvanii sculptures. We are going to explore this venue and open in the following weeks a gallery featuring exclusively Mdvanii dolls from private collections. Beware: only dolls in original Mdvanii creations.

Mdvanii is a genuine creation. BillyBoy* recommands to early Mdvanii collectors not to buy any clothes sold on ebay or any other site which are not authentic, labeled Mdvanii clothes. It is not only an infrigment on the author's copyrights, but it is illegal to use the name Mdvanii to sell any home-made products. And most of the time they are NOT Mdvanii's style!

This article presents for the first time on the web the 20 one-of-a-kind porcelain Mdvanii artworks of the INTRO SPECTRUM exhibition from Summer 2000, as well as the fascinating and controversial Mdvanii, Dheei and Soraya dolls featured in the "Is the Doll World Ready For a Little Discipline?" from 1999, both series innovating a definitely new and futuristic inspiration which was to be further developed in the "Mdvanii, Memories From Earth" exhibition in Switzerland at the Maison d'Ailleurs museum of Yverdon-les-Bains. These Mdvanii artworks are also a reflection of the various paintings and photographs of the artists. The Mdvanii artworks are original creations but the photos themselves are works of art which are independant of the work it is capturing.

"POUPEES" , is the title of an original exhibition which was held at LA HALLE SAINT PIERRE museum, in Paris (January 19th to July 25th, 2004).
Not exactly about children playthings or collectible dolls, the approach was the doll considered as an "object of powers" : Ritual dolls, magical dolls, fetish dolls, dolls from different countries through centuries and dolls as seen in the works of contemporary artists, notably Hans Bellmer, BillyBoy* and Lala, Kazuyo Oshima, Yotsuya Simon, Sarah Moon, Michel Nedjar, Louis Pons and many more.. Reportage and visuals.
