Elli Medeiros started her career as the singer of the cult French punk band The Stinky Toys which she formed with guitarist and new wave dandy Jacno. After a successful carreer and a few good hits (Toi Mon Toit as a solo artist), Elli Medeiros has been exploring other expressions notably as a stylist.
A devoted supporter of the Palestinian cause, she has created a line of "balluchons" (bundle bags) whose sales go entirely to support families from Gaza in need, through the association Famille de Coeur. You can even choose your fabric to have it custom-made for you. A lovely and chic idea for a good cause. Don't spend your summer without the ELLI MEDEIROS balluchon!

BISHOP'S REST - Bed and Breakfast in Jura Switzerland

Patrick O'Leary is a charming Australian-born Jura-based country gentleman who has created an absolutely wonderful Bed & Breakfast house. It is located in Courchavon, the first village after the city of Porrentruy in the direction of France, in a beautiful valley called L'Ajoie. This  B & B is THE place you dream to know, the ideal hide-out for all those who look for a peaceful, relaxing weekend or vacation in the countryside, with all the refinement and comfort of a country home. The rooms are lovely and sunny, exquisitely furnished with stylish furniture and antique decorative objects. The modern bathrooms are a dream to wake up to, there are two fully equiped kitchens...and even wi-fi! Everything is superbly clean and crisp, soothing and pleasant. The B & B is facing a big green field with a river, there are plenty of nice spots with tables and chairs to chill out at any time of the day. The French expression "se mettre au vert" has never been more appropriate. Absolutely gay-friendly too, which is always a plus, needless to say. You will adore it this place! The latest book on the wonderful Sasha Dolls, by Susanna E. Lewis, with Ann Louise Chandler and Anne Wotaw. Everything you want to know about Sasha dolls by Sasha Morgenthaler. Including an article by BillyBoy* with original photos of some of his beloved Sasha dolls.
160 pages, $50 available from Three Anns Publications. See article in Culture.

This book is about a majestic 19th-century family doll's house, from BillyBoy*'s history which he named The Lala House, dedicated to his partner and now husband of 32 years, Jean Pierre Lestrade. Having been living with this house for several decades and with a never ending dedication, they've enjoyed it in so many ways and now wish to share it through this colourful book. It has been a source of great inspiration to them and now possibly to others. This is the first time in doll book history that an entire book is dedicated to a single doll's house.

You can order THE LALA HOUSE book directly from BLURB

More about Roberto Romano

French artist Pascale Borel, heavenly and born to beam, found her footing in the realm of cloud-nine pop. Dream-baby Mikado, formed with Russian-French artist Grégori Czerkinksy, became the turnstile for the duo’s sensationalistic styles we would come to find charmingly irresistible.

For the first time since 1999, new books on the famous Sasha Dolls created by Swiss artist Sasha Morgenthaler: full review by Ann Chandler in CULTURE. Also coming soon, a brand new Sasha article by BillyBoy* on this site.
